Versions
Which versions are supported, how versions are numbered, and where documentation for older versions lives.
Supported versions
| Version | Status | Documentation |
|---|---|---|
| 1.x | Current (first stable release) | This site |
Security fixes are released for the latest minor version. Documentation for the current version is always at /react-pdf-viewer/.
Versioning policy
The package follows Semantic Versioning. Every user-facing change is recorded with a changeset and appears in the changelog. The versioned API is everything the API reference documents: the package’s exports, props, PdfViewerApi, labels, the documented CSS classes, data attributes and CSS variables.
- Patch (
1.0.x): bug fixes that do not change the API. - Minor (
1.x.0): new, backwards-compatible features. - Major (
x.0.0): breaking changes, each with a guide in Migration.
New behavior is added behind opt-in props, so upgrading keeps existing viewers looking and working the same unless a release says otherwise. Support for a new pdfjs-dist major version arrives in a minor release; support for an old one is only dropped in a major release.
Older versions
There are no older versions yet. When a new major version is released, the documentation for the previous one moves to a permanent versioned address (for example /react-pdf-viewer/v1/), and this table links to it. Existing URLs never break.
